It’s time for a great antipasto. A healthy bite to get the appetite started. Today on the menu: Italian Meatballs!
I know you might not think of meatballs as an antipasto. Maybe more as a main dish with some vegetables, right? I understand, but can assure you these Italian meatballs make such a delicious appetizer. Or late night party snack…they’re perfect for that as well! And the best part of these meatballs is that they have vegetables in it too. So they’re super healthy as well!
So what are you waiting for? Pretty easy to prepare, healthy and delicious! So get into the kitchen and spoil your love, family or friends with a few of these amazing Italian delights!
Oh and just a tip: add a bit of milk to make them less fat and more tender.
Italian Meatballs (20/25 pieces)
* 300 g minced meat
* 1 small zucchini
* 1 small carrot
* 1/2 red onion
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp cayenne pepper
* 5 full tbsp breadcrumbs
* little bit of milk
* salt & nutmeg to taste
* olive oil
Grate the zucchini, carrot and onion. Mix it by hand with the minced meat, egg, cayenne pepper, breadcrumbs, milk, salt and nutmeg. Make small balls by hand.
Heat a bit of olive oil in a frying pan and add the meatballs for 15 minutes. Enjoy!!
