It’s Sunday and that means baking time! I love baking but so does Luca and my mom. Luca’s Nutella Cake was a big hit. But do you remember my mom’s Dutch Apple Pie? Sure you do! (If not, go and have a look!) Well, she also makes such a super delicious Orange Bundt Cake. I just need to share the recipe. It’s not very difficult and trust me…you will love this cake! It’s so light and fluffy and has this perfect fresh taste of orange. Yummy. It totally gets me in the spring mood.
This time my mom made the cake for me…how sweet! Since I started working again my baby boy wants all my attention when I’m at home so I got little time for baking (or anything else for that matter) lately! Same goes for Luca of course… But my mom didn’t mind to bake this tasty cake so we could enjoy it!
And you of course!!
Orange Bundt Cake
225 g // 1 1/2 cups flour
175 g // 0,8 cup sugar
50 g // 1/4 cup butter
2 (big) eggs
1/2 glass of milk
zest and juice of 2 oranges
1 tsp baking powder
powdered sugar (optional)
Preheat oven to 180ºC / 350ºF.
Melt butter and let it cool down.
Separate the eggs. Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until foamy.
In another bowl beat the yolks with sugar until smooth. Add butter, flour, baking powder, milk, orange juice and zest and beat until smooth. In the end add the egg whites. Grease and flour a small Bundt pan (1 liter) and pour batter into pan.
Bake for 40 minutes. Turn off oven and leave for another 5 minutes.
Optional: When completely cooled down, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
